Description
In my Thread Play Classes we explore many free motion techniques and one of the items we create are these lacy blobs we call "thingys". After we learn how to make one I always challenge students to find a new use for a "thingy". This piece has two of them; a blue one one the lower left and a pink one on the lower right. Here they represent a 3-d version of the plant life we might find on the ocean floor. This piece was created using free-motion applique, free motion thread detailing, couching and beads were added to create the eyes for the fish as well as texture in the corals and plants.
